Determination and Approval
of
Pandemic Phase
The CPC will monitor
to ensure
that the appropriate alerts are
brought to the attention of the
Crisis Management Team (CMT)
with the necessary
recommendations as to what
activities to initiate.
The activities required
in the
Pandemic Plan will be coordinated
by the CPC. Similar activities
relating to Site Pandemic Plans
will be coordinated by the
respective
Site Pandemic
Coordinators (SPC)
as applicable.
Some activities outlined in the
plan will need to be addressed
early in the stage and others
may be conducted later. This
could be because of the
immediacy of the task, the need
to transition to the next stage or
simply to spread the workload
over a period of time.
From a company-wide
perspective, the CPC will
determine if and when the
pandemic phase is to be
changed. SPCs may determine
when a pandemic phase should
be changed for their specific site
after consulting with the CPC.
Recommendation for a change
in
pandemic alert level requires a
message be sent to the CMT via
e-mail and voice communication.
A meeting of the CMT will need
to be held within a three (3) hour
window, either face-to-face or
via teleconference. A positive
response must be received from
each CMT Member or their
backup.
Recommendations from the
CMT
must be communicated to the
Executive Committee within one
(1) hour of the CMT meeting.
Recommendations will be
communicated by the CPC via
email and voice communication.
The
Executive Committee
will
decide if a face-to-face meeting
or conference call is required for
approval.
Company recommendations
will
be communicated by the CPC via
email and voice communication.
The CPC will work closely with
the SPC to ensure a two-way
flow of communication.
Ultimately, the SPC is
responsible for declaring the
pandemic level assumed by
the site.
The Executive Committee
and
CMT should refer to the following
documents when making
decisions regarding company
pandemic governance:
